Regional Planning elects officers
Sault, MI – At its’ annual meeting on January 29, 2020, the Eastern Upper Peninsula Regional Planning and Development Commission (EUPRPDC), elected new members to the executive committee of the board of directors, with terms ending January 26, 2022.
“Our officers who serve on the executive committee play an integral role in the success of our organization. I cannot thank them enough for their continued support, dedication, and leadership they provide by serving on the Regional Planning Commission,” said Jeff Hagan, CEO.
Jim Moore, a member of the Chippewa County delegation, representing Townships. He currently serves the Supervisor of Kinross Charter Township, Chairman of the Hiawatha Behavioral Health Board of Directors, and also serves on the Chippewa County EDC Board and the Michigan Townships Association Chippewa Chapter. Retired from the Michigan Department of Corrections, Mr. Moore is an avid outdoorsman.
Mike Patrick was elected as the board’s vice-chair. He is elected to the Mackinac County Board of Commissioners, representing District 4. Mike and his wife Diane reside in the Les Cheneaux area and are active in various community development efforts.
Dick Timmer will continue to serve as board secretary, a post he occupied previously. Timmer is a resident of Whitefish Township and currently serves as the chairman of the Chippewa County Road Commission and also on the UPCAP Board of Directors. The lifelong resident of the Upper Peninsula also runs Bay Mills Maple Products.
Dean Reid, representing the private sector of the Mackinac County delegation will continue to serve as the Board’s treasurer. He is also the Chair of the Mackinac County Planning Commission and the Mackinac County Economic Alliance. The retired Michigan Department of Natural Resources forester is the current owner of DS Forestry Services Company.
Jeff Holt will continue to serve as the board representative of minority groups. Mr. Holt is the Executive Director of the Sault Ste. Marie Economic Development Corporation and a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians.
“On behalf of the entire board of directors and the staff, we extend our sincere thanks to those stepping off the executive committee after completing their service,” said Hagan. Bill Henry previously served as Chairman and Joe Dobrolowski served as the Vice-Chairman. Both will continue to serve on the board.
The EUP Regional Planning & Development Commission is a State of Michigan designated Planning and Development Region and is governed by a Board of 18 representatives from various interest groups from across the Eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
