EUPRPDC conducted the Eastern Upper Peninsula Internet Access Survey (IAS) to gather critical data on access to internet throughout the region, and gauge the demand for improved services. EUPRPDC recognizes broadband internet access as a key community and economic development issue in the region. The survey was conducted during the summer and fall of 2016. To ensure all households and businesses in the region had the chance to respond, EUPRPDC directly mailed out 27,934 surveys, provided the survey online, and had hard-copy versions available its office. With a response rate of 8.6% (2,409), EUPRPDC believes the survey, in terms of rate of response, was a resounding success. Now the work begins to show regional internet service providers that there is demand in the region.
