Raber Township, located in Chippewa County, is 143 square miles in area, with nearly one-third of its perimeter shoreline along the St. Marys River. Thanks to its geographic location, fishing and freighter watching draw visitors to the region. Fishing tournaments and recreational anglers all clamor for the walleye, pike, bass, perch and more that are found in Raber Bay. The Township’s landscape is quite diverse, ranging from agricultural fields to the wooded landscape of the Lake Superior State Forest.

Three unincorporated communities are found within Raber Township: Goetzville, Raber, and Stalwart. Early settlement dates back to the 1870s and since 1905, the Township has been home to “Michigan’s Biggest Little Fair” – the Stalwart Agricultural Fair.
